This is very nice entry-level / value phone. It's very thin and light. It has dual SIM + sdcard.
It's really good for every day tasks (Chrome and Firefox for browsing the web, Gmail, SMS, or some light non-demanding games).
I like the large screen with the little camera notch. Screen is bright and easy to read.
It has VoLTE support on T-Mobile, as well as Wifi Calling.
It supports all the frequencies from T-Mobile and works really well with that network.
It also works well with Android Auto for GPS navigation.
Only cons: the camera is "just good". It's not bad, it does 1080p videos (or at least they look like). It just has a regular quality, and works well in daylight. It's not surprisingly stellar though so don't even try to compare it with these fancy phones with multi-camera arrays that cost 5x or 6x the price.
Two tips based on other comments I read here:
- It can absolutely be made to display in ENGLISH ==> when the phone boots the first time, the Android system display a screen in Spanish which actually asks which language the user wants. Tap on the list to display the language choices and scroll UP. "English (US)" is a choice just above Español. Select it and the whole phone switches to English. Again, this is on the very very first screen the first time you boot the phone or after a factory reset.
- If you have already configured the phone in Spanish, you can still easily change the language. Android supports 40 languages or more. Just drop down from the notification area, use the gear icon to get to the Android settings, and use Systema > Idioma > Agregar un idoma > English and make it the first choice.

Headache to get this to work in US (GSM)
I placed the order from US for galaxy a01 , on Jan 31st 2021. This got delivered on 02/12. Today it is the 4th day and I am still not able to get this work in US. When I tried to put a t-mobile sim, the phone started showing "enter network unlock code. your phone isn't allowed to use this sim card". I contacted samsung customer support on 02/12 and they told that the device was manufactured in Chile and it is having a region lock and gave the link of Chile customer support. I somehow managed to explain the issue to Chile customer care over chat and that person gave a url where I was asked to submit the imie number and proof of purchase promising that they would unlock. That URL did not work for two days and yesterday it worked and I submitted the request. There is no acknowledgement of any kind and the device is still unusable. I will wait for 2 more days and return the phone. Ultimate waste of time and effort.
