Fit: This thing fits perfectly on Edition XS which is an open back planar magnetic headphone. There is not a lot of surface area for the adhesive to stick as there are air gaps in the headphone and the connector is not sitting flush. Despite this the adhesive makes a solid connection to the headphone and I have no concern of the effectiveness of the adhesive.
Sound: The quality of the sound is excellent. Note that your milage may vary as the microphone is passive so you will need adequate amplification from whatever device you plug the headphones into (for me it the shiit hel 2. I do not necessarily recommend this setup because i have had some quality issues with the hel2. Note that you will also need to adjust the microphone settings in the windows setting's app as well as in the game or application that you are using this with.
Quality: I cannot think of any complaints in the area of quality. The device feels solid, everything works as it should (no issues with the mute button) and the included accessories are nice.
Conclusion: This is a well-built product and performs as advertised. I would buy this product again if need be and have no problems recommending it to anyone that understands what is needed and how to configure/amplify a passive microphone.
I actually think it'd be great if an adapter like that came with the ModMic in the future, or a small multi button controller for skipping songs and such.
I appreciate that due to the magnet design, when I don't need the boom mic I can rip it off.
Negatives:
1) lots of wires when you consider that you're using an already wired headset and adding a mic with a separate cord. The cables are also of different lengths, so velcro and other methods to control them still get out of hand.
2) The magnet is weak enough that the mic can be pulled off your face easily, causing loud noises on the other end. My cats have discovered this and love to tug on the mic cord while I'm using it, because even a light rug rips the mic off my face.

I actually think it'd be great if an adapter like that came with the ModMic in the future, or a small multi button controller for skipping songs and such.

Negatives:

I just cant go back to gaming headsets, as i love my Audio technicas to much, and this lets me turn them into a tradtional headset with 2 cables.
I will admit, my amazing spring cable that came with my headphones gets nerfed having this one be the new tether, and it has the fault some cables have where it tangles itself, but it does come with clips to attach it to the headphone cable minimizing this a bit.
It included 2 magnets in mine which just peel/stick on to my two pairs of headphones I can swap easily as well. Quality is up to snuff for me as well, it plugs right into my soundcard so I can even manage it easily if I need to.
Bonus it has a mute switch which is a must on a mic for me. Its a bit expensive, but it makes me setup work which is all I need.
Wish the wireless one was a bit cheaper, this works well enough for my use cases.
To start, I positioned the mic as far to the edge of my headphones as possible and the mic is still not long enough to reach. The mic is very quiet because of this and already makes it 1 step behind a $15 headset.
The quality is also surprisingly bad. Noticeable hissing and low volume like I said before. Another review said the sound card add-on fixes the sound quality but I shouldn't have to purchase an add-on to have a product work as intended.
The adhesive that connects the mic to the headphones is cheap and has come off multiple times. I have the hd6xx which has a mesh instead of a solid piece so this is kind of excusable. Regardless, I would hope they would design the mic with all headphone types in mind.
The "Magnetic Clasp System" is also terrible. In theory, it lets you move the mic up for when you are not using but in reality, it feels extremely unpolished and cheap and leads to further problems that I will explain later.
The cable is also too short, for people with a small desk you should be fine but I have my PC a couple of feet away from me and the cable is constantly being tugged. If I just stand up or slightly move away the entire mic falls off due to the "Magnetic Clasp System"
Lastly, the "Instant Quiet". It's a mute switch on the cable like many other headphones like the hyperx cloud and razer kraken. Even something as simple as a mute switch they completely butcher. The button has no tactility and you can barely tell if the mic is muted while using it. It doesn't even fully go to 1 side so it's kind of stuck in the middle most of the time. It's completely made of plastic and feels extremely cheap.
This headphone has nothing going for it. Literally, everything about it is terrible. I don't know how this thing has the reviews that it has. I'm disappointed but mostly upset that I wasted $50 on this garbage.
Please, do not buy this mic.

In the end I decided to bite the bullet, as I'd be using it for a long time and I'm glad I did. The adhesive pads are extremely well made, the magnets are really strong too - enough that I can pull the headphones away from my head if I don't yank it, showing the strength of the adhesive too. They don't have a volume control, just a mute, which is fine and expected. The sound quality is really good, if not a tiny bit bassy (might be the pop filter).
My only downside is the length of the cable, which is quite short, but if you're using it AT a computer, you'll be fine.
