    Terrible packaging - UPDATED
Buyer beware- the way Razer packages these they arrive with the tweeter cones pressed in!It’s due to a horrible packaging oversight by them. You can see in the picture how the bubble wrap presses up against the tweeters. With the normal wear and tear a package will go through during its shipment I’m not surprised by this result.I ordered a replacement unit and the left speaker had the same exact issue as the first one! The right speaker was fine with the first unit, but both were damaged on the second. For $500 speakers this is a disgrace. The speakers should have a magnetic grill or a hard plastic cover over them for shipping To avoid this problem. Otherwise it’s a nicely packaged with a cool presentation. The design looks great imo for razer fans and gamers etc. The subwoofer is huge -About 2 ft tall.I can’t comment on the sound unless I get a unit that is not damaged so I can actually use it. If that ever happens I will be fair and post a folllw up.UPDATE:I went through three units the first time. The Third only one tweeter had a SlIGHT push so I settled.Everything was fine for months until the speakers just died, no idea why. The power resides in the subwoofer. It’s concerning obviously, but to Razers credit the RMA process was smooth and they sent me a brand new system.I added the photo to show the speakers now come with different packaging! No bubble wrap and a hard plastic cover to protect those cones. They are mint. It’s great to see they listened and acted on this. Now I can actually comment on the sound and these are simply phenomenal. They are certainly intended for a desk and aimed at one user, but these things get LOUD and more importantly no matter how loud they remain crystal CLEAR. Warning, the subwoofer is huge.I do not like the default THX eq. I set it to custom and either use the game (smiley) or music eq setting. It sounds way better than the THX or Dolby presets imo. I don’t use this for movies, only gaming and music. I have the sub around 30% and it’s perfect for my room. I love to relax while at my desk and listen to music on these. Games are intense and you hear things you never used to because of the clarity and depth. You can easily argue these should be cheaper, but I have not heard anything better for a pc, nor sleeker in style.

5.0 out of 5 stars An honest review from an audio snob
Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2018
I was skeptical, but these speakers are pretty solid. Details below:

    PACKAGING
That one reviewer's point about the packaging protecting the tweeters - the packaging isn't terrible. It's decent, but he/she is right - the tweeters need some sort of protection so they don't get damaged, especially when you're removing the speakers from the foam. Also, don't bump the tweeters, they are extremely fragile - that should go without saying.

    THE BEATS EFFECT
Are Beats headphones good enough for you? Do you have $500? Buy this and plug it in and you'll be blown away. You can play with the THX, Dolby or custom equalizer settings in the Razer app if you'd like but you probably won't care enough.

Are Beats headphones garbage to you? Are you a gamer? Do you have $500? Would you prefer to spend less than $1000+ on a new sound system? Do you prefer to have a 2-speaker desk setup and/or don't want to have speakers behind you that you may accidentally knock over with your chair or body or whatever? These are a really great choice. The first thing you'll want to do is go into the equalizer settings in the Razer app and change the equalizer to custom - and set all the frequency ranges to 0 (although for some reason, during one of the patches, they now save to all 1s... weird). Anyhow, do that. THX and DD (but especially THX) heavily modify the sound and any music with a significant presence of mids and especially highs will infinitely significantly better. It's extremely tangible in gaming and in music like Queen. Also, make sure the bass boost isn't too high for your tastes, unless you want to rattle picture frames.

    VOLUME
These speakers get quite loud. No need to worry there. That goes double for the subwoofer. And the subwoofer is big and powerful.

    WARMTH
If you don't know what warm sound is, skip this point. If you do, after normalizing the frequency volumes and turning down the bass boost in the Razer app, these speakers will lose their warm sound. They're not quite as neutral or even cold as electrostats, but they're definitely colder than more expensive Bowers & Wilkins. The sound is crisp. A lot of the uber-mainstream garbage pop/rap and (for those of you who are older than 30) your older 128-bitrate mp3s from the mid-late 90s don't sound particularly great. Shower singing sounds pretty good until you remove the shower.

    DESIGN
It's nice and pretty. And, it's is less obnoxious than some of Razer's other offerings.

    OTHER THOUGHTS
I use After Effects and Premiere for video editing and motion graphics. I find wearing headphone cans for a long period of time tiring. These speakers (assuming you balanced the equalizer like I mentioned above) are actually pretty decent for it - more than you'd expect.

It's now been several months and I decided to do a written review here. I'm really quite happy with my purchase - because I was worried when I pulled the trigger. Assuming you don't dent your tweeters, I bet you'll be quite content with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sound good, quality metal, bass is bigger than you think, overall good value for certain people
Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019
As a person who doesn't know a lot about audio equipment I just wanted something that was easy to set up and sounded good when playing video games and watching videos. I also wanted something that was quality and that would look cool. These speakers hit all of these things, they sound good watching videos to playing games. The speakers themselves are made of some kind of metal and the bass is made of the same thing. The look of these speakers is definitely one of the reasons I bought them and they look great in person and don't take up as much space as other speakers I was looking at. Also the app is easy to use and not buggy. You can adjust the bass and volume through the app, change through sound modes, and change the colors. One of the downsides is that the base acts as the central hud and everything else has to connect back into the base, which if you are trying to mount far apart won't work. Also when I was looking into buying these a lot of people were saying they were a rip off for $500 but after getting these speakers I realized that they are worth the price because of quality, the app experience, the color changing, and the style. Overall I didn't have many complaints
