Really excellent gps watch for hiking and trail running.
    5 Stars
Really excellent gps watch for hiking and trail running.
This watch is really great. Much better than expected. I bought it to track trail runs since I am starting a more ambitious training plan and it has been great. The GPS and altimeter are very accurate. I have a handheld garmin gps unit and the readings the watch gets are almost exactly the same. The heart rate monitoring is also excellent at rates below 160 (I haven't gone above that in my training plan yet. I will update the review if there is anything unexpected at higher heart rates.) It's actually better than a polar chest strap monitor I have which takes about 10 min to 'warm up' before I get accurate readings. It is also better than the heart rate monitor on the fitbits my kids have (inspire hr and charge 4) I especially like the function where you can set it to alert you at a certain heart rate or heart rate zone during exercise. The watch does not have a touchscreen, and is operated by buttons on the side. I really like this because I can operate it with big gloves on when it is cold out. It is also very lightweight for the size and the band is comfortable. The sync is easy and fast to my pixel phone. Much better than the sync for fitbit. It also seems to hold charge for a long time. I think I'm charging about once a week, and the charging is quick. The timers are good, I often use them to time stretches. The feature that controls the music on my phone has also been surprisingly useful for skipping to the next song when a bad one comes on. The sleep tracking and other metrics work well and have been interesting i did not buy this watch for that purpose but I have been enjoying that aspect. I haven't used many of the other capabilities. The only drawback is how large the watch is for my arm. It fits fine in general, and is good during the day, it just takes up my entire wrist so that makes it hard for me to sleep with. I do have pretty much the smallest wrists ever though. Anyone with an average size wrist should be fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal product!
Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2021
It has been almost a year that I have owned this watch I have worn it everyday and night within that time. I work on a farm as well as in a veterinary setting. Needless to say it gets pretty much drug through the mud and rain as well as scratched multiple times. I have it connected to my phone and it alerts of messages on my iPhone clearly. The battery life was 17 days from full charge to completely dead. In that time I had notifications, heart rate, weather as well as connected to the app. I used GPS and workout tracking for probably 4-5 hours within that time. Another thing I have noticed is I am able to do quick charges for about 30 minutes to make it last another day or two if needed. It has been completely submerged in water every night to clean it so I know it’s waterproof. It has a multitude of features to customize the settings the way you want. I’m incredibly impressed. If you do a lot of outdoors type stuff and have a need for something durable this is your watch. If you want something for the name and fancy apps stick to Apple Watch. I have tried Apple Watch but it dies quick, scratches easily and is not what I would call durable in any sense. I love this watch and will be purchasing the solar one for another purpose and hope to have the same review in a year.
