1. Performance. It's definitely more responsive due to the new 3100 processor, but it's not a massive improvement. Apps are snappier and Google Pay comes up instantly, unlike previous watches. It seems to lag behind other non-Wear OS smart watches in terms of speed, but it's a step in the right direction.
2. Battery life. Initial battery life looked to be sub-par with an average day ending at 15% or lower. However, I removed some of the pre-installed bloatware (Nike run app, some emergency dialer app, Spotify) and I also made sure the Fossil heart rate monitor wasn't a widget on my watch face. Between these actions, my battery life after an average day was just under 50% - much better. This number includes always-on display and Google Fit background heart monitoring.
3. Comfort and style. Easily my favorite part about the watch. It's very sleek looking while also being extremely light weight. It's barely noticeable throughout the day and the silicone band is the most comfortable I've had yet. The stock Fossil watch faces aren't the best I've seen but some do offer some nice functionality. Unfortunately there is no speaker, so calls or Google Assistant responses aren't handled well on this watch.
4. Durability. Can't speak to this point too much since I've had it less than a week. I've read some reports of issues with the plastic housing, the charging hookup on the backside, or the rotating crow. With that said, I'll be taking extra care just in case. Definitely spend $8 to get the glass screen protectors.
5. Fitness tracking. Works as well as any other Google Fit supported watch. The weight makes it more ideal than other watches. Just be aware that it will drain the battery much faster while you're actively tracking your exercise.
TLDR - Among the fastest Wear OS smartwatch and exceptionally comfortable. Clean up junk apps for much improved battery life. Get the glass screen protectors. No built-in speaker. Stock Fossil faces are decent.
I came from a Moto 360 sport, which would die on me at about 8pm. This watch is loads better than that. Notifications come in quickly, watch looks great aesthetically, and having the watch last all day is all I wanted in a smart watch.
One thing that I've had a little bit of an issue with is the GPS on the watch, since I wanted to use it on runs. I've mapped out the normal run I do at 1.11 miles, and the watch usually thinks it's anywhere from .6 miles to .9 miles. Not a huge deal, but would've been nice to dial it in more accurately.
Overall I highly recommend this watch.
Comfortable to wear with the included band.

Cons:
-The watch is a little slow considering that it only has half a gigabyte of ram however enabling developer options and scaling the animations down to 0.5x increased it's responsiveness significantly. Honestly feel like the developer should enable this out of the box.
-Storage is low but I don't really store music on the device so that's not an issue.
- Battery life is a bit poor as I usually have to charge it halfway through the day but turning off the always on display helps significantly.
- No native sleep tracking built into the watch, it was one of the things that I purchased the watch for but since Google bought Fitbit, I'm pretty sure that Google might work that into wear os.
Overall the watch is not perfect but it does get the job done. Giving it 4 stars as it fits my needs, minus the lack of sleep tracking and the battery. I will update my review if anything changes over the course of the usage of the watch.

Which makes it a little easier to accept the fact that the watch is super laggy. That's my biggest complaint with it. Another hard to swallow pill is that less than a month later Fossil brings out it's Gen 5 watch line which adds a speaker (I don't really care for this) but also ups the RAM significantly which makes the watch much more responsive. So all in all a great watch for the price, but I wouldn't pay full price for this with the Gen 5 line becoming available.
I like the fit integration, the quick release watch straps that allows you to buy a 22mm strap online and update its look. It's very light and looks bigger on wrist in pictures than it does in real life. The battery performance demands that you charge it at least once a day but if you don't use GPS on it, it should last more than 24h. With exercise using GPS you should be able to charge before going to bed, setting it airplane mode, get up with only a few % lost, last until it's late day charge time again. Charges take 1h 15 - 1h 30min, so not a big deal.
The GPS responsiveness leaves something to be desired. It allows to piggy back off the phone's location settings, however if your phone location settings is set to wifi and cell networks only (battery savings mode) your exercise logs will show a very skewed route. The phone needs to be set to high accuracy to support the exercise tracked to be meaningful. If you leave the phone at home, it takes quite a while for the watch only to find the satellites. It took mine 4min yesterday. So for really tracking exercise it's not that useful. Who wants to start an activity and wait 4 minutes before moving? Or who wants their first 4 minutes of exercise to be lost?
Manual heart rate measured in the fit app on the watch didn't show up for me until I opened the app on the phone, which then synced back to watch and update the numbers - sorta weird and embarrassing if you try to show it off to your partner who has a fitbit.
The screen surface isn't used to the maximum - there seems to be unused black space around the screen content and the actual bevel.
All in all, buy if on sale, else consider the next gen.
