I ordered this case because the idea of the magnetic angle holds was an idea I really liked since the magnetic folding triangle cases do not seem to be a sturdy option and this case seemed like a great option.Pros: 1. the viewing angles are magnetic which is more secure, sturdy, and gives a better hold than the type that you just rest on the divots in the cover. 2. There is a specific place to hold the Apple Pencil and it’s located in a place where the pencil is easy to use and can charge while in its spot which is not true for all cases that offer a place for the pencil (although I’m not sure how secure it holds it on when hit or placed in a bag) 3. Has an opening so you can use fingerprint id (this was an important feature for me because I do not like having to type my password in every time I open my iPad) (speaking of opening the iPad, the sleep/ wake feature does work for this case which I know some people find an important feature although would not be a deal breaker for me). 4. The front cover flap is magnetic when the iPad is in the case so stays closed which is a great feature if you plan to travel with it.Cons: 1. Speaking of the front cover flap, it does not stay connected once it’s folded back / does not stay secure on the back if you wanted to use it flat, portrait, or walk around with it open, just kind of flaps around which could become annoying when picking up or carrying around. 2. One of the main cons for me is that you can’t really open the front cover unless you grab it from the bottom right corner due to the pencil area blocking the side as well as the fact that the cover sits almost flush with the sides other than the bottom right area that sticks out to the end of the case to open it. I found this to be annoying since I’m used to being able to open a front cover from any side but maybe you get used to it. 3. It’s kind of heavy which is understandable due to the angle magnet feature but may be a negative for people who want that light iPad feel.Overall the case seems like it’s good quality. Ultimately I decided to return this due to a combination of the price and the negatives that just made it not worth it for me. I ended up ordering this case since it was compared to the other one I had been looking at (esr shift) but said to be lighter in weight but ultimately I chose the other case I had ordered as the extra viewing options and more features appealed to me more and the weight was basically the same. If the cons I listed are not deal breakers for you then hey it seems like a good case but just not for me.

    Second Zugu I’ve had. First one lasted 4+ years on my iPad, under heavy use, before it started to fray just a bit at the edges. Came time to replace the iPad and there was no question what it was going wear.
    Rock solid case with great fit, functionality and protection. Premium case, albeit for a somewhat premium price but well worth the cost. You pay $$$$ for an iPad why would you trust it an inferior $ case is beyond me. Buy the best.

    You might be asking yourself, is it worth paying the extra money for this case? When it's probably 3x the price of the typical kickstack case.

    Yes. Yes you should. I've used both and it's night and day.

    * The build quality is so much better on a Zugu. And that has practical benefits: it protects better and is thinner because of the better materials.

    * The kickstand is much more intuitive. It's very easy to position the way you want, and at virtual every angle you want.

    * The Zugo "kickstand in back" approach is so much more convenient than the more common "kickstand on bottom" approach because it puts the screen closer. It also (in combination with the magnets) means you can pick up the iPad and move it without collapsing your setup.

    It's just, all alround, an iPad case that was **designed**. A lot of thought and testing clearly went into this case and, if you use your iPad as much as I do, it is easily worth the money in order to get the most out of your iPad usage. (And to protect it better!)

    P.S.
    The "slot" on the back is for your Apple Pencil. I never realized this until after owning the case a long time, because there is a pencil slot on the side where it can charge. But having the pencil in a physical slot is much more secure, especially when your iPad is in a bag. So charge it in the side slot, but store it in the slot when it's charged.

    Was torn between this and a Parblo tablet stand and ultimately went with both. I'll compare the two in this review.

    Pros:
    + plenty of angles to set the tablet at, and the magnet system for holding the stand up is sturdy (especially at the steepest ones)
    + at any angle past the lowest two, there isn't much wobble when drawing which makes it great for on-the-go arting
    + feels sturdy and like it'll protect the tablet from short falls and scuffs
    + groove for apple pencil
    + buttons are clicky without much mush

    Cons:
    - the lowest two angles are the ones I would LIKE to use the most for drawing, and sadly the wobbliest. the lowest angle is unusable for me for drawing due to the level of wobble. I end up compromising and using the third most often. I wish that they were able to make the lower angles steadier because they're more comfortable for drawing imo
    - the apple pencil groove does not accommodate a grip (even a relatively thin one)! this was almost a dealbreaker for me
    - the tightness of the cover against the screen corners pushes up my protector (a Bellemond textured one). this is also almost a dealbreaker but it so far hasn't ruined the screen protector
    - adds a bit of bulk that makes it heavy in the hand (could be a pro for some)

    Versus the Parblo PR 100:
    → Parblo is sturdier at every angle thanks to its design
    → Unfortunately the Parblo adds extra gear to any kit, unlike the Zugu which snaps onto the iPad (performing double duty)
    → Parblo is cheaper
    → Parblo has a lip at the bottom that irritated my wrist while passing over it (since it juts out over the bottom of the iPad) = this is ultimately why I decided to give it away

    Overall the situations where I'd recommend the Parblo over the Zugu are:
    - you already have a decent case that will provide elevation for the iPad so it stands up over the lip of a tablet stand
    - you don't need an on-the-go solution and want something that is only somewhat portable
    - you need a shallower angle for drawing comfort
    - you don't want to have to take off your apple pencil grip every time you need to charge it on the iPad

    The Zugu is better if you:
    - need an iPad case (I didn't have one yet, so this was a bit of a two birds thing)
    - are fine with drawing at steeper angles
    - don't mind taking on/off an apple pencil grip (or don't use one at all)
    - don't mind the Zugu messing with your screen protector (or don't use one at all)

    My overall verdict is a 4/5 as someone who wanted it for drawing specifically. It's not bad but it's not my "perfect" solution. This would work great for anyone just wanting a case to let them watch TV or read at different angles.

The story of the founder is great - he stuck with his idea despite a few failures.     I had a 5th generation iPad mini and bought the Zugu case for it. It did a great job and protected it. So great was the protection that when I traded in my mini, I got the full $120 for the trade-in!

    This time, I bought a 256gb iPad Air M2. I knew the only case that would protect it would be Zugu. This time, though, I could have a screen protector. My previous case didn't work with one. So happy there were no problems with it this time.

    What I like about Zugu is it is a very sturdy case. The cover stays on. The Apple Pencil stays in place when recharged and it is also held in that back "pocket" securely. The magnets are strong and the case is just well made.

    This case may seem like a bit much but I know it will be the only case I need. I have no qualms spending money for it. I even bought one as a gift!

    The magnets are strong, the case fits tight and secure. Super easy to install, you literally just put it in. The reviews saying otherwise must have either bought or received the wrong one.     When I got my new iPad Air, there were so many case options to choose from that it was daunting. I wasn’t impressed by Apple’s offerings, and some of the other options I found were either too bulky or looked flimsy. I’d never heard of Zugu cases before, but based on their features, detailed product descriptions and consistently strong customer reviews, I decided to give one a try.

    When I received the case, I was impressed with the quality and care put into the packaging. It sounds trivial, but from the enclosed thank you note and instruction card printed on thick, textured stock, to the molded foam insert and printed tissue wrapping, the unboxing experience was premium. Someone had thought out every detail and cared about first impressions.

    The case fit my iPad Air perfectly and has stayed on it since I got it over a year ago, with little signs of wear. There’s a well-molded, magnetic receptacle at the side for the Apple Pencil, which not only holds it securely, but also charges it consistently and with ease. But the most impressive feature of the case is its magnetic, multi-position kick-stand. Not only does the stand provide a wide range of angles (eight of them), but the magnetic support also holds the case rock-solid—whether it’s balanced on lap, sofa or table. And if I want to attach my iPad to a metal surface, like a fridge or workstation wall, the case can do that, too, since the magnets are that strong.

    If I were to mention one small, negative detail about the case, it would be the stretchy, fabric Apple Pencil holder stitched into the back cover. Having used it a few times, I didn’t get the impression it was too durable. It’s the one feature that just doesn’t feel as well-engineered as the rest of the case.

    Overall, the Zugu iPad Air case is excellent. Although it’s priced higher than some competing options, you really do get what you pay for with this. Highly recommended!
