Great for phone for almost half the price as flagship models

Great for phone for almost half the price as flagship models
Although it's still not perfect the OnePlus 8 fixed a lot of the minor annoyances I had with my 6t. The fingerprint scanner is way faster and more responsive now and I'm so glad the volume slider has hard stops. I hated when it would just slide past vibrate and go to silent on the 6t. I would always have to use 2 fingers for precision which wasn't easy with a case on it. This one stops where I need it with no issues. I also love that the charging port snaps onto the charger and doesn't easily fall out like the 6t's did. My favorite thing about this phone is that they finally fixed that annoying flash for the camera! The 6t would light up the scene perfectly but then when you took the picture the flash would get way too bright and everything would turn into a blown out mess! This one works sooooo much better! My only gripes with this phone are the cameras themselves and the curved screen. The main camera is pretty decent and is capable of taking some great images for a cell phone (the night mode actually works pretty well) but there's better cameras on other phones. The zoom isn't great either but no cell phone has great zoom image quality at the moment. the macro lens is pretty cool but lacks decent image quality. I also see this phone is still plagued with not being able to take decent landscape panorama shots 😔 please fix this oneplus! I also don't see the point of the curved edges on the screen. I can't see any funtional value to it other than being slightly more ergonomic, but now my phone case has nice little pockets for dirt and crud to build up on the sides and get inside of it. The battery life could also be a bit better but it's not bad at all and the phone charges insanely fast. Overall this is a great phone! It's fast and snappy and does everything I need it to. The pro's outweigh the cons by a large degree. The crazy chameleon paint looking colors look awesome through my phone case too lol I'm definitely satisfied with the upgrade.

I've been using a oneplus 5 on T-mobile for a few years now as at that time it was the only dual nano sim around. I like to have my business line and personal line in one phone. The oneplus phones that T-mobile sells are only enabled for a single sim I had to by this one. Popped the sim cards out of my oneplus 5 and put them in and both lines work just fine. 5G works too. The clear plastic case that comes with it is just to my liking.

Impressed with the handling and the operating speed is much better than I expected. Initial upset with all the ads and bloatware. most mow under control. This version of OS ( android/OnePlus) takes some getting used to (not really the One+8 problem) Transfer of data and apps from old phone was excellent and smooth.
Battery life was not as good as hoped for. Still comfortably lasts all day but will not have power by the middle of next day if I forget to charge over night.
Screen clarity, camera, video, and audio, all very good and as per editorial reviews. dual SIMs work well and activate quickly and with out problems ( US,UK, NZ).
I will review further in about 6 months

Says CDMA compatible... No. Does NOT work with Verizon. We received model IN2010, NOT IN2013 as advertised. It took about a month to get our refund, we had to file a claim with amazon... Ridiculous situation due to a false listing description.

The location of the buttons makes it convenient to take screen shots...too much so, accidental activation of the screen shot happens often. The finger print reader fails about 10% of the time and you'll need to enter your code to get into the phone. If there is a way to wirelessly charge the phone, I have not found it, not that it was in the specs, just thought this would be standard in phones in this price range and yes I understand it isn't made to be top of the line. Overall, this is a good phone. I got what I paid for, nothing more.

Overall happy. dual sim card is present and sim#1 works..
Hand gestures are cool, bur takes some time to get used to.
Display is good curved edges. Not a big fan of photography. I would have preferred a phone with reduced cameras.. but with existing features, this is okay

4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone, but be aware of charger
Reviewed in Canada on July 21, 2020
Ok, the OnePlus phones are great, no complaint there - all 5-star. The seller, SaveOnCells shipped my phone fast as well, no complain there. And unlike some others, I did get the correct phone - IN2013 model. However, be aware that with the international version you get the international (euro style) plug charger. This charger has the big two prongs and plastic piece that sticks out. The seller included an adapter, but with the adapter and charger assembled the whole thing is so heavy it falls out of a north american outlet, it is ridiculous. Secondly, they included a second cheap US plug charger but that will slow charge and not warp charge the phone. So if you want a US style charger you have to order that separately from OnePlus. I could not find that in the product description so I feel that is a little misleading, but I guess I should have known from the "International Version" in the description. SaveOnCells, to be completely transparent, you should describe ALL the package contents. For this reason I gave the 4-star review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money

Coming from a OnePlus 6, the 8 isn't a night a day difference but it's an improvement in many ways.

Same fast charging, decent preapplied screen protector and same great Android skin.
    The improvements:

Android 11 update is ready to install,
    5G future proofed,
    noticeably better screen,
    higher refresh rate (90hz),
Snapdragon 865 (not the newest anymore but still great),
    much better haptics,
much better speakers with Dolby Atmos now, no notch (Thank you!),
    better battery and
a taller aspect ratio for widescreen content.

    The not so great:

    No headphone jack :(,
Only one speaker at the bottom,
A few more apps you can't uninstall (like YT Music),
No wireless charging (if you care about that) and
the whole phone is a fingerprint magnet without a case.

But that's all I found I didn't like, which is a short list.

Purchased for £350 new on sale (£550 from OnePlus as of writing), and for that price I don't think you can get a better phone, hope this is useful to potential buyers.

After about one month of usage, the phone is everything a regular person would need for day to day activities and then some. Awesome look and feel, screen refresh and changes are crisp, speakers are loud, battery lasts long and the best part...warp charging, it's so dam fast. Can get from 0 to 100 in about 40 mins.

So glad didn't go for latest and brightest OP 9 after it's release.
