The first pair of higher quality headphones I got were Beats Pro (I was in high school and they were all the rage). While the noise cancellation and sound quality were great, they were INCREDIBLY fragile. Very plasticy. That was a problem for me. The Beats Pro I had only lasted a little over a year before they were damaged beyond use.
The next pair I purchased were the V-moda crossfade. These were great. The noise cancellation was only a notch below and the sound quality was on par. But the construction was FAR better. I absolutely beat those things up and they never died. That pair lasted me several years and still works well. But I wanted an upgrade.
This V-moda crossfade 2 is exactly that. It’s everything I loved about the original cross fade but with more comfortable ear cushions, better design, and Bluetooth capability. The battery life is less than ideal, but certainly doesn’t out weigh the overall quality of these headphones. I can not exaggerate how sturdy these headphone feel. And on top of that, the sound quality and noise cancellation are both high tier. Not to mention they are incredibly stylish. I’ve had them for a few weeks now and am thoroughly impressed. Would highly recommend.
"Bluetooth button broke so now I can't connect via Bluetooth. Sent amazon a replacement request" not deducting a star yet until I seethe condition of the replacement set.
First of all, i always wanted to get the M100s but I also I wanted Bluetooth. Almost went with the Bose 35s but with some research, I found the Crossfade 2. Owned them for 2 weeks now and not one regret.
Pros:
Quality sound, I've been headphone hunting for almost 2 months and these are the best sounding headphones by far. Suberb lows, highs. Great mids.
Comfortable, Ok so with the stock ear pads, I had a little ear fatigue after 2 hours. I upgrade to the XL and no fatigue whatsoever after a 4 hr gaming session.
Mobile. Folding headset including a waterproof, dustproff, hardshell carrying case.
Customizations. Plenty of accessories, I got the XL ear pads, spitter and the boom mic. Excellent quality accessories.
Cons:
Bluetooth. Bluetooth doesn't seem to get too loud but it's too loud enough to drown background noise in a airplane.
Overall: Best headphones I've owned hands down. After a week of owning them, I bought the Dragonfly Red Dac and the sound quality got even better to the point I can't even describe. Gaming on these headphones with the dragonfly, it's unbelievable. I hear every step and direction of enemies or conversations. Don't hesitate and buy this now.

Sound:
There are a lot of reviews out there regarding sound and of the three headphones above and the V-Modas will generally come last. I agree that the PX headphone sound is much more 'true' while I personally would put the Sony below the two. The main gripe I had with the other two is that with noise cancelling on everything just sounds... forced. It is a strange sensation. The only thing I can liken it to is when you pop your ears on a plane and you get that feeling of pressure and everything just sounds a bit odd. I kept turning it off because I couldn't get used to it so figured what is the point in having it?
The V-Modas are more bass heavy than the others which again I prefer as it suits the music that I like (rock, metal, techno, drum&bass, house).
One issue that I have had is that the Bluetooth connection is not amazing on these. If I have too many clothes in between the headphones and my phone the sound jumps in and out. Very annoying. It is always fixable by having a clearer line of sight but for this money it shouldn't even be an issue.
Looks:
I much prefer the industrial look of these headphones to the others - this is very much personal preference though. What I will say is that these seem to give a nicer 'arc' on your head. The headband on the Sony in particular stuck out a lot and while the cable routing of the PX is incredible and give cleaner lines, I prefer these - the cable give a bit of character and the ear cup holder looks so much cooler.
Battery:
Lasts a decent amount of time but has the most annoying method of letting you know it is running out of beeping - I can't think of a worse method making it known that the battery is low. One of the other main reasons I chose this pair of headphone is that you do not actually need the headphones to be charged to use them - so long as you have a 3.5mm-3.5mm cable you can use them. It prevents the situation of lugging around dead weight and having no music at all. The sound quality is also improved slightly by using a cable - great for DJs apparently - the difference to me is minimal.
Other:
+ The folding design is incredible and makes the headphone tiny when stored, the hinge feels sturdy and I'm not afraid of just throwing these around.
+ The case is again really good, I generally just clip the headphones to the outside of my bag when not using them which frees up space in my bag when travelling.
+ They sit around your neck infinitely better than the others.
+ By far the most comfortable headphones, the soft ear pads are like a cloud on your head. The downside to this...
- ...After a while they make your head sweat - I don't think this would happen with the PX headphones because the pad is much harder, but SO painful after a while.
- The buttons are a bit fiddly and sometimes stick, it feels like these could have been drastically improved. There is also a bit of a delay sometimes on pausing.
All in all I'm giving 5 stars because, despite the small niggles, these are incredible headphones. If you don't believe me just do what I did and buy a few and return the ones you don't want...
Noise Canceling schnell Kopfschmerzen bekommen.
