This Chromebook has everything you could want and then some. The quad processors are fast and might even be overkill for something as easy running as Chrome’s OS. It boots up in seconds and is just fast connecting to a WiFi network. The time from boot up to checking email takes less than a minute. It’s fast and reliable with a beautiful HD screen for watching all your Netflix and YouTube. It meets the battery life expectations more or less, and it is quick to charge, normally only about an hour or so.
The backlit keyboard does the job, but isn’t a major selling point and the quality makes me think it was an after thought. (Can you turn this off to conserve battery power?) In the same regard, the touch screen is great but really gets little to no use as this Chromebook is really best used as a laptop. If you plan on using the touch screen as your main method of navigation, be prepared to clean it often. Fingerprints and grease will make the screen seem grainy and you might not as well even have an HD screen. Just be mindful of keeping your hands clean during use and you should be alright.
The one thing that I don’t understand is the lack of an HDMI cable port. For the price of this Chromebook, it really should come with one. Sure you can buy a Chromecast and sync to alternate screens that way, but having a lack of screen-mirroring options holds this product back.
A Chromebook that is comparable to this and cheaper in price but similar in function is the Acer Chromebook 14, which I recommend you take a look at if you are tight on budget.
