Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

Not sure why Motorola has to reinvent the wheel every time they release a new product. I would think a Motorola dongle would work with Motorola
The only caveat is that I can confirm that they are analogue, not digital adapters. This is important for certain phones like the Pixel 2. I just got a Pixel 2 from work and confirmed that these do not work with that phone.
In that vein, I also tested this unit in comparison with the Pixel 2's digital adapter, and I must say, the digital audio sounds better. Will most people be able to tell, especially with corner store brand ear buds? No. But if you use a set of quality headphones or monitors, you will probably pick up the very subtle differences. In my case, I use the Etymotic HF5 IEMs.
I was hoping the adapter would also serve as an adapter for a microphone with a 3.5 mm plug. Unfortunately, it does not, nor does it claim that capability. In fact, rolling your mouse cursor over the 3.5 mm jack housing in the photo will reveal the embossed "headphone" icon on the housing.
In other words, this appears to be a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) device capable of adapting three lines: left stereo, right stereo, and common. This type of connection is often referred to as a three-pole connection.
I wanted to use this to connect my Rode Lavaliere microphone, which requires a TRRS (tip-ring-ring-sleeve) connection, to include the above three lines plus a microphone line. But it doesn't have that.
Please understand that the adapter deserves five stars because it appears to be well-made, it appears to be a genuine Motorola product, and it performs exactly as advertised.
The fact that I wanted it to do something it didn't claim to be able to do is certainly not the fault of the product. I've ordered a TRRS adapter through an auction site because I couldn't find one on Amazon, and unfortunately the product I'll be receiving is not a genuine Motorola product, so I may keep the Motorola adapter for just for use with my wired earbuds.
If you're looking for a headphone jack adapter for one of the listed brands, this will do the trick. It may be a little more expensive than some of the knock-off products, but it appears to be well-made, and I like the idea of having a well-made product I can count on, rather than having a cheaper poorly-made product I can't count on. (If I didn't care if it worked or not, why would I buy it?)
Get this one.
I specifically ordered these because they are supposed to be OEM Motorola connectors, there is a little plastic thing to loop the jacks through that has moto printed on it. Who knows? When Thing12 dies I will update.
I have ordered approximately $75 worth of these, so the money does add up in the long run. To Amazon's credit they did refund me one purchase after I called and complained, but it took 30 minutes to get to a Human, and I got so angry (nice word), I returned another pair to a vendor, which means repacking, getting a return authorization, printing a return label and receipt, and wasting time and gas driving to a UPS store for $10, surely a loss if you only pay yourself minimum wage for the time wasted. They (third-party vendors) know only a psycho like me would go through this much aggravation to return a $10 item, that is how they can get away with selling an item with up to 67% (depending on vendor)1 star reviews, and the vast majority of people don't waste time reviewing or more importantly returning $10 items, hence the ripoff scam that these things are! For $119 a year and all our data for free Amazon has a fiduciary responsibility to police and remove chronically faulty products.
I am hoping with much skepticism that these don't fail like all the rest, if they do I will update with vengeance. If they last the 5 stars stand.
I really hope I don't have to revisit this issue, Hell hath no fury like a man who has had his chain jerked for 16 months.
But the real perpetrator of this crime is Motorola, for dumping such a bad design into the market.

3. The item I received is much shorter than shown in the image.
I would not buy from this seller again.
