What makes the Razer Barracuda Pro a hybrid headset?
With the headset’s USB-C dongle still connected to your PC/console, you can switch to Bluetooth at any time for a quick and easy, grab-and-go experience when moving from indoors to outdoors.
What is Razer SmartSwitch Dual Wireless?
A feature that lets you connect a 2.4GHz and Bluetooth device to the headset at once, allowing for seamless use between them without having to manually pair and unpair. Simply double tap the Razer SmartSwitch button to toggle between wireless modes.
Can I activate ANC on the headset itself?
Yes. You can conveniently cycle between ANC on/off and ambient mode using a button, in addition to toggling these features through the Razer Audio App.
Is there a wired mode on the headset?
No, as the Razer Barracuda Pro’s hybrid ANC, THX AAA, and beamforming noise-cancelling mics require power from a specially optimized battery.
Can I adjust the noise-cancellation on the integrated mics?
Yes. Using either the Razer Audio App (mobile) or Razer Synapse (PC), you can toggle the noise-cancelling levels between off, low, and high, depending on your needs and the environment around you.

Quality:
First up, quality. The headphones have a sleek design. They’re not the most compact headphones you could get, but they are still slim enough to store or travel with.
They have a comfortable fit, and enclose my ear within the soft foam muff and padded headband.
The materials overall seem really sturdy, as in they should hold up for a great deal of time — you definitely get what you pay for, in a good way.
Noise Cancellation:
The headphones have pretty good noise cancellation in my opinion. With the volume up to 30-50%, it’s nearly impossible for me to hear a level speaking tone beyond them. When they’re off/ sound is muted, I can hear beyond them a bit; albeit the outside world is still fairly muffled. May not be the top of the line in noise cancellation, but they still do a mighty fine job.
Sound Quality:
As aforementioned I keep my audio about 30-50% of the way depending on the game/ who I am playing with. These headphones have excellent sound performance that, to an everyday user and a connoisseur by no means, would argue are a close second on sound quality to any expensive headset (noise cancellation aside).
Microphone (mic):
The mic itself is (as far as I’m aware) a good mic. It doesn’t pick up the hum of background noise, or sound fuzzy — thanks to the padding around the mic itself. Though, because it doesn’t pick up background noise it does need to be within about an inch or two of your mouth if you’re more soft spoken like myself (maybe not so much if you’re raging on it).
One minor concern I do have would be the foam the microphone cover is made of. It’s a very basic foam, so over a significant deal of time I do imagine it would take some wear and tear.
One thing I do like though is that the mic is detachable. It fits into the headset pretty snug (though it took a moment to learn how to make sure I had it in all the way properly), so taking it out and replacing it shouldn’t be a huge concern in terms of it fitting back in place in accordance to wear and tear. That said, you could easily use the headset to listen to music or watch tv in your day to day as well. Alternatively of course you could still leave the mic in and bend it out of the way.
Battery Life:
In terms of battery life, the headset holds a pretty decent charge. I believe I’ve gone like 3-4 days of using it for about 4-5 hours on average and still not needed a charge. I haven’t tested it’s limits, but it seem to have a pretty decent battery life for those who like to have extended gaming sessions/ usage.
That said, these headphones are wireless so if wireless & having to recharge headphones is not for you I wouldn’t recommend them.
Overall/ TLDR:
The headphones are great quality, and rival more expensive headsets at a great price for the everyday user. They were certainly worth the buy :)
Is this the best headset on the market? No. Is it to audiophile standards? Definitely not. But guess what, I don’t care. I bought this almost exclusively for aesthetics, and it’s perfect.
The pink is the perfect shade and matches perfectly with the Razer headphone stand. (If you’re investing in pink peripherals, consider getting the stand, too.)
I was having trouble with the adapter at first because I had accidentally set it to seek Bluetooth on initial startup, and so there was an issue connecting to the 2.4GHz adapter. Once I got it figured out, everything was fine.
I use a separate mic, so I could not speak to the mic quality. Never use a bluetooth headset mic if you can avoid it. I’m sure it’s sufficient for phone calls but any bluetooth headset mic is going to be atrocious.
The headband and ear cups are super comfortable. You can wear this headset for long sessions without worrying about your comfort. I love the flexibility of the ear parts, too, so you can lie the headset flat, if you wanted to. I was worried this would be less comfortable than my Blackshark V2 but I honestly prefer this one after wearing it. It’s much easier to adjust the fit and the foam feels cushier. If you want something that feels good, this one has that set.
Audio wise, it’s good! It is not going to have bone shaking bass or that super crisp sound that audiophile folks will be looking for, but it’s good for gaming and listening to music. There isn’t much difference between the adapter and Bluetooth in terms of how it affects the sound, so connection choice is all in your preference. I can hear things clearly, there is no delay in my sound, and I can adjust volume on the headset with the volume wheel.
Battery life is excellent, too. I have the Razer Kraken Hello Kitty and Friends edition and this one’s battery seems to last much longer. Granted, the Barracuda doesn’t have any RGB.
If you are someone looking for a comfortable wireless headset with good sound, the Barracuda is a great option.
If you’re specifically looking for something pink for your gaming/streaming setup, opt for this over the Kraken. This one is much more comfortable, adjustment friendly, and low profile. Unless you really love the light up ears on the Krakens, the Barracuda is the way to go.
If you’re brand new to Razer, this is probably a good entry item or one-off purchase. In my opinion, they make great mice but everything else from them is just good, not great. At some point, buying Razer is more to buy into the brand name and Chroma ecosystem, but that’s the point.
Recommend to anyone in the market for a good BT gaming headset!

El micrófono es algo que no probe pero es algo que no usare asi que es algo que no me importa
Reviewed in Mexico on August 9, 2023
Construction quality seems great. Its all plastic (steel headband adjuster) but feels really solid. Matte finish. Considering the wireless connectivity and microphone and battery, they are impressively lightweight.
The 2.4GHz usb-c dongle is critical here. I value low-latency video meetings so plain Bluetooth is not an option. (too much lag) But its also great to be able to take cell phone calls with them and also use for music-only via Bluetooth.
Extremely comfortable. Like, wow. The ear cubs are exceptionally deep and large. I have large ears and fit easily within the cups such that all the clamping pressure is distributed on the skull/neck/jaw. Clamping force is medium. I have some lighter headsets, and some stronger ones. Riding a bike would be a stretch, but just sitting in the office I choose to stretch them out a bit to lessen the clamp.
Audio is awesome. Bass heavy with sharp mids. They feel incredibly... spacious? Something about the physicality of the set makes the stereo separation beyond compare. It sounds really really good imo. And you can adjust with a THX or a third party app to make the EQ flatter if needed. External sound isolation is good too. I vastly preferred these for music compared to the Blackshark v2 X.
Microphone is ok. Without adjustment I found the gain simply too high. But speaking softly, and turning the input level (on PC) down a bit, its pretty good. Very localized pickup. I also predominantly use these in MS Teams which has built-in noise suppression which I turn up to "High". In un-altered side by side comparison to the "Blackshark v2 X USB", the Blackshark is obviously lower and also clearer. Probably a better mic. But the Barracuda X will suffice for my workplace meetings and phone calls. (I have relatively high standards for this btw, 80% of headset mics are unacceptable imo) I somewhat miss having a rotating mic boom but having them detachable is the next best thing.
Comes with all the cables you might need - all proprietary branded with integrated rubber straps. No carry case.
They do not work with the Razer Synapse app (neither does the Blackshark X USB) which seems like a purposeful disabling for this "X" model. It does work with the Razer THX sound app but that has a $ cost and doesn't control the microphone.
For the price I think its a surprising high performing product. From the packaging to the included cables to the audio, comfort, mic, and connectivity, it all speaks of quality. Well done Razer.
