This case isn't what I expected, but I'm pleased with it. I don't know why I thought this case would be made of lightweight metal, but it's not. It's a beautiful satin finish silver color rubber type case. It's flexible so it slips on the phone without a struggle. It's easy to grip, too. The thin kickstand on the back is made of plastic and it stays put until I gently pull it out. I wouldn't want to drop something on it while it's standing, I think the kickstand would pop off.
Since this case was designed and manufactured in Korea by Samsung, it fits like a glove. The ports are easily accessible, as are the camera and fingerprint sensor on the back. It's not loose and it's not dinky.
*Tested using U.S MIL-STD-810G METHOD 516.6 procedure
I looked it up. This means this case was subjected to one or more of the tests listed in the publicly available MIL-STD-810G document. It should survive at least a 4-foot drop. However, it's up to the manufacturer to decide how strict to be with the test. The case, with a phone inside, may be dropped a few times then checked for damage. The guidelines were not designed for smartphone cases, so the tests can vary a little. I still feel confident that Samsung did not take any shortcuts. I've never bought anything other than Otterbox before now, but I really feel good about this case.
