If you want to armor up your iPhone, Otterbox is what you need
Apple goes to all that trouble to make the iPhone super light, thin, sleek, and easy to slip into a pocket. And then the consumer comes along and puts a case on it. Why? Because we live in the real world with concrete, pavement, rocks, etc. and we typically handle our phones with complete absence of care or dexterity.Otterbox has the reputation of being the most secure enclosure for your mobile device, and this one is no different. It actually looks better than older models of Otterbox but hardens the device much more than the thin silicone slip-on cases.Yes, there's a weight penalty of about half an ounce (as compared to silicone case with no magnet) but that's acceptable. What I may not find acceptable in the long run is that pressing volume or power keys is now a little bit challenging, and the mute switch (still on the iPhone 15) is *really* recessed. Maybe that's good to guard against accidentally flipping the switch but I don't remember that being an issue. Since my iPhone 15 is new and I do use it while bike riding, I'm going to err on the side of better protection and use the Otterbox.
